iTPC Carabinieri is a free Android application developed by Arma dei Carabinieri. It was created to make culturally relevant content accessible, even in English, on the most common mobile devices. The app is a breakthrough since it allows users to contribute to the fight against crimes against cultural heritage. It supports the investigative activities of Carabinieri del Tutela Patrimonio Culturale, aimed at recovering lost artwork. It guarantees the highest level of portability and dissemination of its telematic potential.
The application offers four main services. Firstly, users can consult and download bulletins of searches. These bulletins contain information about the most relevant artwork stolen over time and represent a valuable resource to combat the illicit trafficking of works of art. Secondly, the app offers visual search functionality, allowing users to recognize stolen artwork in real-time by comparing images with those contained in a dedicated computer archive.
